PPS remembers William Raspberry
We were sorry to learn of Mr. William Raspberry's passing. In our early years, he wrote a Washington Post column, 'Can Whittle Save the Schools?' about disparities in education and mentioned our organization: "I've just seen a statement from a wonderful Mississippi-based group called Parents for Public Schools, protesting that American communities "cannot afford two separate school systems, one for the `haves' and one for the `have-nots.' "
Mr. Raspberry understood the importance of having a public education system that offers a quality education to all students.
